Celebrating Zucchini Season!
This week at the market we’ll have a draw to win a spiral slicer gift pack (comes with the slicer, recipes, and some veggies to spiralize – pickup at Friday Aug. 25 market). Buy zucchini or summer squash in any format at this week’s market and you’ll get an entry into the draw. We’ll have lots of zucchini just the right size for spiralizing! We’ll draw and announce the winner at the end of the day.
You can also Like our Page and Share our post on Facebook to get an entry into the draw.
Spiral slicers are the coolest new kitchen gadget. They can be used to make wide ribbon noodles or spaghetti noodles out of veggies like zucchini, cucumbers, and carrots. Spiralizing vegetables is a great way to incorporate more produce in your life. Adding spiralized veggies (or fruits) to salads, casseroles, pastas, and other meals is a great way to step up your nutrient game. I like using a spiralizer for appearance too—who can complain about eating veggies in ribbon form?
We have a few handheld spiral slicers (like the one pictured on the left) to give away over the next few weeks, so we’ll keep you posted about future draws!
It is pickling season. We are working hard to make pickles at every opportunity, but have lots of pre-orders and only limited amounts make it to market each week!
If you’re interested in ordering pickling cucumbers to make your own pickles, please see this post for more info!
Need more info? You can click on any of the items on this list with links to visit our page with all sorts of info about that veggie. Or, check out our Veggie Guide by clicking here!
