Our new laying hens were delayed by a day due to a winter storm and closed roads. I can’t help but think about all the extra work that would have caused at the hatchery – I’m grateful that they took good care of them and they arrived full of vigor, as usual!
These 49 young ladies will grow up to be our new flock of laying hens. It takes about 5 months for them to get to maturity, so we expect to have a steady supply of eggs for our CSA customers starting in August.
