Subscribe for 8 weeks of locally grown, nutritious greens in 2020!
Sign up NOW for our Spring Shoots Program, beginning in March 2020! The program will run for 8 weeks and costs $120, pickup at Chez Angela Bakery (29C 10th Street, Brandon MB) on Tuesdays from 4 – 6 pm.
Each week you will receive something fresh and green from our farm. It will usually be a few bags of different shoots that we grow, but it could also be a small tray of living shoots, potted herbs, or if we have an early spring it may include early greens like spinach (doubtful, but totally possible!). It will definitely include Pea Shoots, Buckwheat Shoots, Fenugreek Shoots, Popcorn Shoots, Radish Shoots, Spring Salad Micro Mix, and Sunflower Shoots which are all crops our farm currently produces successfully. We will also have some pickles and preserves available for you to order a la carte and hopefully storage veggies or other crops.

For more info about Why we run CSA Programs, please see this post. We find that CSA subscription-style programs work really well for us as a matter of keeping things organized, efficient, and guaranteeing us a market for what we are producing. We find it really rewarding to get to know our customers, and building relationships with people in our community is part of why we love what we do. CSA offers our farm a way to bypass the volatility of the marketplace and it helps us spread out the work over a longer season and in an orderly manner. Those who are registered in our Spring Shoots Program also have access to any other crops or preserves we may have available at that time (for a la carte ordering). We keep this option limited to Members Only as an incentive for joining the program.
Packaging: We are working on sourcing some compostable packaging for our shoots and we *hope* to have it sorted out in time for the start of this program.
Payment is preferred in one installment of $120 by February 15, 2020 to secure your spot. That being said, we never want payment to be an obstacle to your participation. If you require a different payment schedule we are open to discussing whatever works for you. So long as there is communication, there are options!
You can send payment via email money transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org (and please include the answer to your security question in a separate email). Or you can mail a cheque to Site 520 Box 40 Brandon MB R7A5Y5. If you need to pay by cash please send us an email!
But I’m going to be in <insert tropical vacation spot> for one of the pickups, can I still sign up? Depending on the circumstances, we may be able to accommodate a missed week here or there if you let us know in advance. Just send us an email before you sign up and we can discuss it. So long as there is communication, there are options! Otherwise, it’s best to arrange for someone else to pickup in your place while you are away. Since we are growing the shoots to order and they have a short harvest and storage window it gets a bit complicated to reschedule.
There is NOT any other option after you miss a pickup without prior notice. It’s too late at that point as we have already completed our part of the deal by growing and delivering your shoots, which if not picked up have then endured my errand run after the pickup and probably a lot of mishandling in the process. (And no, you can’t come to my house and pick them up! We find farm pickups very inconvenient & time consuming and they are a Hard No around here.)
If you miss a pickup due to extenuating circumstances such as illness or emergency, please be in touch with us as soon as you can and we can sort something out. Otherwise, if you miss it, you miss it!
Please let us know if you have any questions! email@example.com
